OKEHAMPTON fundraisers took one small step and one giant leap in aid of vulnerable children recently. Okehampton Children's Centre took part in the Barnardo's Big Toddle on June 18 — a sponsored walk for under fives. The theme was space, and participants walked around Simmons Park before having a picnic and singing. The event was kicked off by Entertainingly Different's Rob Pudner, who got everyone warmed up for their walk. The Barnardo's children's centres in Okehampton and Hatherleigh are managed by the charity on behalf of Devon County Council. They provide a wide range of free support and advice to local parents and carers of under-5s, including toddler groups, baby massage, breastfeeding support and play sessions.
