YOUNG People's charity Youthwize recently unveiled their new-look drop-in centre in Tavistock.
Thanks to the generosity of many businesses in the town, the front room has been completely refurbished to give a more welcoming environment for young people using the charity's services.
Project co-ordinator Steve Shill said the new decor gave the room a less formal atmosphere which the young people found was much more appealing.
'The young people have all said they like the room, he said. 'It's very informal and more like a place they can hang out and relax in.
'We're really grateful to all the local shops and businesses who made this possible with their generous donations.'
The shops and organisations who contributed are: Tavistock Carpets, Natural Nomads, Tavy Textiles, Tavistock Electrics, Follets, Acorns, The Warehouse, Spiral Staircase, The Lions Club, The Paint Shop, Jewsons, Needlecraft and the Co-Op Fabric Shop.
Youthwize offers free, confidential support and advice to young people on a range of issues including substance misuse, sexual health, employment and housing.
l RIGHT: enjoying the new surroundings at Pixon Lane are: full time volunteer worker Gemma Glover; Wheelz project co-ordinator Charlie Cruise and substance misuse worker Jack Evans.
