THE Dartmoor Tourist Association is celebrating the first year of its new website, the main page of which was recently translated into four languages.

The website, which was redesigned last year with the help of Foot and Mouth Recovery Plan funding, includes a searchable accommodation and activities database plus information on news, events, villages and Dartmoor landscapes. There is also a facility to order a Dartmoor holiday guide and sign up for a monthly e-newsletter.

Acting chairman of the DTA Adam Southwell said the site was getting more than 5,000 visits a month, with January having seen a record of 6,374. The translation was to reflect the nationality of visitors to the moor, he said.

?During the next twelve months we will continue to develop the website further and also increase the numbers of visitors to the website and Dartmoor National Park,? said Mr Southwell.
