HATHERLEIGH Football Club celebrated one hundred years of goal scoring with a number of activities and events including a match with local rivals Holsworthy last weekend.
In what was an entertaining and lively game the visitors defeated Hatherleigh FC by one goal, the match ending with a 2-3 score.
Almost 200 players, old and new had gathered at the town?s sports field the previous week to enjoy food, drink and a nostalgic musical entertainment.
There was also a display of old photographs in the clubhouse.
Celebrations will continue throughout the year as Hatherleigh hope to fix up a friendly match with Plymouth Argyle. Hatherleigh FC are also hoping they may be able to arrange a friendly with Exeter City.
