KELLY Prep pupils recently celebrated the French tradition of eating 'galette des rois' for the feast of the Epiphany.

The youngest child from each class hid under the table and called out classmate names for a piece of cake. In each class one lucky youngster found a chocolate 'feve' charm in the cake and became class king or queen for the day.

Mary Lowther, language co-ordinator at Kelly Prep, said: 'It was a wonderful to be able to celebrate this traditional French festival, it was a lovely way to increase the children's awareness of other cultures and customs.'
