THE strong link between poet Charles Causley and Launceston?s St Thomas Church will be celebrated at a special event next month. Carols, music and readings of Causley?s work relating to Christmas will be presented at the church in an event entitled A Celebration of Charles Causley at Christmas. It has been organised by the Charles Causley Society which maintains and promotes interest in his work. The opening prayer will be by the Rev David Michaels, and among those presenting items will be children from Launceston?s St Catherine?s School where Causley taught for many years. The special celebration takes place on Thursday December 8, starting at 7.30pm and is open to all. Charles Causley, who died two years ago, aged 86, was born close to St Thomas Church. He was christened there and is buried in the churchyard.
