A BIG fayre takes place on June 11 at Walkhampton to celebrate the 50 years since Lord Roborough donated the village field. Lord Morley has agreed to open what will prove to be an action-packed day of archery, sumo wrestling and Ugandan drumming. In the afternoon, gun dog trials, dancing, tai chi and traditional craft demonstrations are to take place as well as a family dog show with prizes. Other attractions include live music from the Moorland Band, a medieval encampment, classic military vehicles, side stalls, raffles, barbecue and the all important beer tent. Organisers intend to round the event off with a late afternoon hog roast. For more information contact Pam Kitchin on 01822 853992.
