THERE will be plenty of water about this Sunday at Tavistock Parish Church, when at a family service at 3 pm, parishioners will celebrate all the baptisms that have taken place in recent years.
Water will be poured into the font at St Eustachius' Church, as a reminder of the special occasions when young and old have been baptised. There will be songs and prayers, and the service of about 30 minutes will finish with drink and cake in church.
Anyone is welcome to attend, while the families of children who have been baptised have received special invitations to come along.
Photographs of baptisms may be on display.
The Rev Michael Brierley, priest-in-charge of Tavistock and Gulworthy, said: 'Baptism says something so important about the love of God, and our inclusion in it.
'It's a great gift to celebrate, and I warmly encourage all who would like to join this celebration to do so.'
