A CHILDREN?S charity has benefited from the efforts of a young singer-songwriter from East Cornwall ? and the generosity of those who bought her CD of Christmas songs. Aimee Coulshaw, 19, from Gunnislake, recorded Songs for Sargent at Christmas and raised £1,700 for Sargent Cancer Care for Children. The CD of traditional and modern songs featured the classically-trained singer and the choir from Blundells School. It was sold at outlets around Tavistock over the festive period ? with shops selling out of stock at one point. The former Tavistock College student said: ?It?s been an emotional yet humbling experience. It was a privilege to do it and I will continue to do work for the charity. ?The support has been amazing - I?d like to thank everyone for that.? Aimee presented a cheque to the charity on the Carousel children?s ward at Middlesex Hospital recently. She is currently working on her own songs which will be recorded later in the year. l Pictured from left to right are: Di Braithwaite, Sargent social worker; Jill Staley, teacher on Carousel Ward; Aimee Coulshaw and Mason Gibbs, 11, a patient on the ward.
