THE new annual Dartmoor Guide for 2004 published by Dartmoor Tourist Association has this week been launched at Castle Drogo, near Drewsteignton.
Attending Monday?s launch was well-known author Michael Jecks who lives near Sticklepath and one of the moor?s most well-loved inhabitants and image of the national park ? a Dartmoor pony.
The new holiday guide is called ?Dartmoor ? A Breath of Fresh Air?. It has a foreword by Dartmoor-based Arctic explorer Pen Hadow and gives detailed listings of accommodation providers plus plenty of ideas of places to visit and things to do. It also contains many beautiful photographic images of Dartmoor?s stunning landscape and landmarks.
Adam Southwell, acting chairman of the DTA, said: ?This year?s guide is in my view, our best ever. It is a comprehensive guide to accommodation and attractions on and around Dartmoor, with loads of other information to assist and captivate our visitors.
?The stunning photographs can only give an inkling of the beauty of Dartmoor in all its seasons.?
