TAVISTOCK travelled for the second time this season to Efford, their main title rivals, and came away with a much deserved victory. Tavistock were always in the acscendancy with great work from Shannon Ashworth, Livvy Hodge and Megan Case in attack, ably assisted by Jolene Piper in midfield leading to numerous shots on the Efford goal.
Efford did create one or two chances but their accuracy was similar to Tavistock's and when there was a shot on target, Fiona McCall, in goal, was more than equal to it.
The second half continued in much the same manner as the first with player of the match Megan Case and substitute Grace Oliver missing numerous chances and Efford having the odd opportunity, defended well by Amy Bassett and Zoe Metters.
With three minutes to go the game seemed to be fizzling out until Megan Case picked up a poor goalkick 30 metres out and this time ran straight back at the goal, blasting the ball past the keeper to allow Tavistock to collect the full three points.
With three games left Tavistock need to win two to ensure they win the league for the first time in the team's history.
