THE generosity of the residents of Bere peninsula means there is money available for local voluntary groups. Bere Alston carnival committee has raised the money, which, although limited, means voluntary groups on the peninsula can apply to it for a grant of up to £500. Any group which has a project that would benefit from some help with funding is invited to apply by letter to the treasurer, Bere Alston Carnival, 33 Broad Park Road, Bere Alston, by September 30. The aims of your group, current fundraising activities and the project for which the grant is required should be detailed on not more than one side of A4 paper. The decision will be made after the annual meeting on October 6 and the outcome published on the carnival notice board.
