At 10.30pm on Saturday a black Vauxhall Astra collided with a telegraph pole outside Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church leaving the car trapped beneath the pole.
The driver escaped unhurt but the road was strewn with telephone wires and electric cables which were eventually cleared soon after 4.30am on Sunday.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
