FORGET 'ladies what lunch', Tavistock last week played host to the new Cappuccino Chicks networking group, a chance for local businesswomen to come together, share best practice and network over a cup of coffee.
Leading from the successful Women Do Business (West Devon) group – runner-up for 'Most Inspirational Host Group' in the recent Women Do Business Awards – Cappuccino Chicks had its first meeting on June 9 at Kingdon House in Tavistock. The initial session was well attended by a dozen or so local business entrepreneurs.
Attendees were welcomed by hosts Lisa Gleadhill, founder of Women Do Business (West Devon) and a qualified reflexologist, and Natalie Shute, who runs Nat's Nappy Cakes and Gifts, the online baby gift business.
Lisa outlined plans for a series of speakers at forthcoming events, including Tina Sibley, of Speaking 4 Success, at the next session in July.
Natalie said the group would be open to members' suggestions: 'We want to hear from members about what they would like to gain from the sessions.
'Whether that's business training, advice on social media or an opportunity just to meet like-minded people.'
The next event is at Kingdon House on Thursday, July 14 from 10am. To join or find out more can contact Lisa on 01822 617970 or search for Cappuccino Chicks on Facebook.
