South Dartmoor 20
Tavistock 3
TAVISTOCK Squash Club produced their worst combined performance of the season as they capitulated at the hands of close rivals South Dartmoor.
Peter Walshe, playing at number five, was outclassed by former county player Trevor Hargreaves who eased his way to a 3-0 win.
Skipper Stuart Cox, playing at four, squandered a 2-0 lead against Chris Woodward who fought his way back into the match with a fine display of driving and boasting, Chris eventually taking the spoils 3-2.
Tim Wallis, playing at three, was outmanoeuvred by the tall and rangy Dave Adams, who had Tim chasing the game from the start. Tim was not at this best and lost 3-1.
By the time Tavistock number two, Colin Grice stepped onto court the match was already lost. Colin proceeded to lose 3-0, in a one-sided battle against Keith Woodward, who hardly made a mistake.
The stage was set for Tavistock number one Andy Gauler to salvage some pride for the visitors. However, this did not transpire as Andy produced his worst performance of the season and was easily beaten by Martin Langellan the South Dartmoor number one 3-0.
This lacklustre performance by Tavistock will have to be improved upon between now and the end of the season if the club continue to have any hopes of promotion.
