Pupils from Mount House School enjoyed a two-day visit to London, thanks to the hospitality of their hosts at Elstree School. A full day in the capital started under leaden skies at the Houses of Parliament where they met West Devon and Torridge MP Geoffrey Cox who gave them an insight into the day-to-day life of an MP at Westminster. The group emerged into brighter weather and visited many of London's famous landmarks. After lunch on the South Bank they went aboard the London Eye. The visibility was excellent and they could see as far as Wembley Stadium and the outskirts of London. There was just time for a flying visit to see Buckingham Palace before catching the train home after a tiring but enjoyable visit.
