MORE volunteers are needed to assist at the recently re-opened Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton.
The museum opened its doors again in July following a comprehensive £650,000 refit and although the surroundings may be new, what the museum now really needs is some new helpers.
Museum curator Maurie Webber said she is particularly keen to hear from anyone who would enjoy being in the museum shop to welcome visitors.
The historic town centre building was closed for eight months while the refurbishment was completed, which meant not all volunteers could pick up where they left off when the museum re-opened.
Ms Webber said: ?We are looking for anyone who could welcome visitors to the museum. They could do mornings or afternoons, even if they can only do a couple of hours a week, that would be a help.?
Ms Webber said anyone who could spare some time to help would be joining a friendly team at an exciting time in the museum?s development. Helping out at the museum also offers a chance to find out more about the fascinating history of Okehampton and its surrounding area.
If anyone is interested in volunteering in this way please call in or telephone 01837 52295.
