Have you just retired but still want to remain active? Are you someone who would like to develop your management skills? Are you someone who would like to ?give a bit back to society?? Then this could be for you . . . Sharon Woodhams, community fundraising manager for the Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB), is looking for someone to join the senior volunteers team. Sharon says: ?This important voluntary position requires a commitment of at least one day a week. Duties will include supervising a number of volunteers who place and collect the money from the famous Sooty boxes, as well as booking and co-ordinating store collections at local supermarkets. Senior volunteers are people who are well connected in their area. You?ll work on your own initiative, make even more local contacts and build upon and lead a team of existing volunteers. Full training is given and although part of a larger team, reporting is done direct to the local area fundraising manager. Not for you? Then how about managing a small area of Sooty boxes that you will empty twice yearly and bank the proceeds? This requires two to four hours per week, depending on the size of your area. Full training provided ? call for a no-obligation chat about this and other roles with RNIB. Sharon can be contacted on 01626 334375.
