TIME is beginning to tick away before Okehampton's disco and picnic in the park in celebration of the Queen's Golden Jubilee — and organisers are asking for information to help them with catering for the big event.

Town councillor Perry Vallance has contacted the town's primary schoolchildren by letter, but he would like to hear from anyone with pre-school or college children who might be attending the event.

They can contact him on 01837 52417 or drop a note in to the town hall — this will assist with catering orders.

Anyone who wishes to be involved in the celebrations, or can help in any way, will be welcome at the last planning meeting, which is to be held in the town hall on May 14 at 7pm.
