A DETERMINED fundraiser dancing his way across Britain is looking for a night's free accommodation in Okehampton and in Lifton to help complete an epic dance challenge.
Ben Hammond from Wiltshire embarked on his 'Dance Britain for Burma' fundraiser, dancing from John O'Groats to Lands End, on August 13 2012. The dance is to raise funds for LearnBurma, Burma Campaign UK, Amnesty International, Partner's Relief and Development and Prospect Burma.
His progress was halted after he and an unnamed cyclist were hit by a car in Polsham near Wells on October 3.
Judith Hammond, Ben's mother, said: 'Some people may have seen him on television when he danced over the Severn Bridge. Alas, he was forced to abandon his quest when he was injured after a drunk driver drove into him. Two weeks later, he tried to resume but was not totally recovered, so only got as far as Taunton.'
He is scheduled to reach Okehampton for an overnight stay on Thursday, February 14, and then dance his way from the town to Lifton on Friday February 15. He is looking for free accommodation on both evenings to help with the challenge.
