BROWNIES from Tavistock, Bere Alston and Yelverton joined together recently to celebrate 100 years of the club's existence. In excess of 40 girls aged from 7 to 10-years-old camped for two nights and enjoyed cooking their food on an open fire, learning about the traditions of guiding to earn their badges and taking part in a treasure hunt, games and craft activities. The Brownies personalised 'wellie sticks' as a memento of their camp and for use on any future camps they attend. The camp, which culminated with a campfire, where the girls enjoyed toasting marshmallows and singing many old and new campfire songs, was enjoyed by all.
