Cornwall Cup Callington 18 Redruth Albany 34 IN this the first round match Callington played hosts to their Kerrier visitors. On a hot day Redruth Albany scored first within minutes but Callington, who dominated in the scrums, pulled back with a try from number eight Chris Lancefield. The try was converted by full-back Wayne Wormald. Redruth Albany were able to pull back some points with a second try, followed shortly by Callington?s second, this time by Jo Sims. A third try by Redruth Albany would have seen them take the lead in the first half, but a penalty from Wayne Wormald and a drop goal by Ian Rooke saw Callington leading 18-15 at the interval. In the second half Callington lost some form and Redruth Albany were able to score more tries to proceed to the second round.
