Despite the sunny conditions, a stiff breeze and cold temperatures prevailed at Callington's home pitch at HMS Raleigh.
Callington began strongly with the lion's share of possession and territory, but failed to capitalise on a number of well earned chances. Okehampton defended well despite being penned into their own half for the opening quarter.
Long balls by the Callington centre midfield were hit into the away side's D, all of which stopped and cleared efficiently by Brieze Read.
The game soon began to turn over and Okehampton dominated possession for a long period of time.
The darting runs of Grace Thorpe for Oke providing a good target for attack and stretched the play.
Half way into the first half Okehampton's pressure paid off when Winnie raced down the right wing, beating two players before placing a pin-point pass to Thorpe who slotted home.
It was Okehampton's sterling defending that proved fruitful though with their first real attack providing the only goal of the first half.
The tireless running of captain Sophie Whiteley proved difficult for the Callington midfield.
Nat Dennis was called upon to chase down an incoming shot, a superb block prevented the ball reaching anywhere near Callington's target. Katie Graves quick reactions terminated most Callington chances on goal, putting the ball wide and safe.
The second half was a similar affair with Okehampton pinned in their own half for the main part, though occasionally managing a few surging runs into the opposition half.
Callington ladies' perseverance finally brought reward for Callingtons' attacking prowess with Jenny Tazob's long drive from midfield being turned into the Okehampton net by Cindy Rice.
This proved to open the game and both teams reacted positively with end to end ambition as both teams looked to gain the winner.
Despite Callingtons' attacking dominance, Okehampton ladies' impressive defensive display showed a draw to be a fair result.
