TAVISTOCK Rotary Club is making plans to organise a Young Photographer of the Year competition with schools in the area.
With the theme ‘our world is beautiful’, this will be the first time the club has held a photography competition in its 60-year history.
Organiser, Rotarian John Hanson said: ‘With the whole world to choose from and with the historic town of Tavistock so close to the wonderful landscape of Dartmoor, our young people have tremendous scope to express the theme of beauty through photography.’
The competition has three age groups, junior (up to 10-years), intermediate (11-13 years) and senior (14-17 years).
The closing date for entries is January 15, 2016.
All entries will be displayed at Tavistock Library during the first week of February and winners will be then announced.
Local winners will also have the opportunity for their photographs to be entered into the Rotary National Young Photographer of the year.
