A CALF was rescued from drowning by Okehampton firefighters after it fell into a deep ravine at around 6.30am on Sunday.
Two fire appliances were called in to rescue the trapped animal at the Hill Barton treatment works in Okehampton.
Firefighters used ladders, ropes and water rescue equipment to free the calf in an operation that took around an hour.
l Okehampton firefighters were called out on Saturday morning after a large caravan overturned on the A30.
The caravan was travelling in a westbound direction at Sourton Cross when the accident occurred.
The carriageway was blocked for around threequarters of an hour while the vehicle was removed from the road.
