IN response to the advertised appeal (Times, September 3), stating that a mobile phone was left in one of our vehicles on Friday, August 28, we would like to make it absolutely clear that the customer concerned contacted us on the morning of Saturday, August 29 and the vehicle concerned was checked immediately. No phone was found and on checking through the records it was also noted that no other passengers had sat in the rear of the vehicle from the stated time of misplacement until the time of notification.
4Hire Taxis would like to remind customers to ensure they have all their belongings before exiting the vehicles as we do not accept liability for any personal item left in our vehicles. Any items that are found are kept with the vehicle for a period of time to try and re-unite them with their owners, which has happened on numerous occasions. If unsuccessful, property is handed in to Tavistock Police Station, without exception.
