AS reported to your paper on August 30 that C-FAR have now decided to apply for planning permission for change of use of Burdon Grange Nursing Home to convert it to a centre to rehabilitate young offenders, I consider it to be a worthwhile cause and fully support it.
I feel we must encourage these young people to become useful citizens and appreciate the value of good living and the Burdon Grange site is ideal for this.
The success rate for the C-FAR programme underlines my belief that in this environment and with their supervision this can be done — and the residents of Highampton need have no fear for the safety of their young children.
I have, therefore, written to the planning officer at West Devon Borough Council asking them to approve this application.
