LANDLORD of the Union Inn in Market Street, Francis Jasper, has come up with a good gastronomic idea for the jubilee celebrations — red, white and blue sausages!

As a regular customer of Downing the butchers in the market he approached John Downing who liked the idea so much he agreed to make them.

John has put the patriotically coloured sausages in his shop window and says they have proved quite an attraction with customers.

Meanwhile Francis, a former butcher from Plymouth, has already sampled the goods.

'I have tasted them and they are terrific! With them you could celebrate in style by having a meal of Jubilee sausage and mash!'
