A SMALLER entry than usual met a flying trade at the Rendell's Spring store cattle sale on March 6. Top price of the day was reached by WG and J M Barrow of Moretonhampstead, whose South Devon Cross steer realised £600. The same vendors also sold a South Devon Steer for £520. Good trade was had for South Devon Cross steers with Mr J Reddaway selling five which averaged £478. Other leading prices included 11 Limousin heifers which averaged £396 from J A Cumings and Sons. Charolais steers sold by Mr P Stanbury averaged £438 and heifers averaged £316. Simmental steers sold by J Redman reached £495, heifers reached £332.
