BROWNIES took a break from the Christmas party last week to help with sorting the Tavy Division Guide Christmas Post.
Members of Girlguiding have for more than 25 years provided a Christmas postal service to addresses within Tavistock and Whitchurch, approximately 65 delivery rounds.
Stamps this year cost 25p and are available from Tavistock Laundrette, Dartmoor Photographics, Mainly Stationery, Superdrug, Cards for Good Causes, Pillars, Lakes Pharmacy and the Spar shop in Ford Street. Post boxes are also available at these outlets.
This is a good fundraiser for local Girlguiding while providing a service to the community. Last post is at 5pm tomorrow (Friday). This year the Tavy division hopes to top the record 7,000 cards.
The division has said they have had more than any previous year with a name but no address, part addresses and cards out of area for Grenofen, Mill Hill, Somerset, Southampton and New Zealand. For those outside of Tavistock and Whitchurch, they have to buy stamps and put them in the Royal Mail. Please check your envelope.
