THE last four weeks at Hurdwick Golf Club have been busy, with several competitions ending and two club events held. The Turkey Trot took place just before Christmas in quite appalling conditions. The winner of division one was Ray Truscott with 31 points followed by Harry Bee and Jason Archer, both with 30 points and separated by back nine countback. The best result of the day came in division two with Chris Tear making 36 points. He was followed by Rob Archer and Ray Hurle, again both had 30 points but positions were decided on the back six holes. The ladies' winner was Pam Atkins with 33 points, second was Shirley Portis with 31 and in third spot was Gaynor Pollard with 27. Chris Tear and Jason Archer shared the 'two's' sweep. This was followed by a successful Christmas Draw. The New Year's Day Medal was won by Andy Furse with an excellent net 68, second and third were way behind with Paul Mace scoring a net 75 and Ray Truscott 76. Sally Arscott won the ladies section with a net 78 while Kevin Pugh and Pam Atkins shared the 'two's' sweep. Other results include Roger Downing winning the 2007 men's scratch event, Tony Wood won the handicap event and Martin Stevens won the Autumn eclectic.
