TWO local businesses, Gibbs Kirby and Curtis BMD, have joined forces to sponsor the long established sporting event in Tavistock, the Tavy 7.

Tavistock estate agents Gibbs Kirby have had a long connection with the race and Curtis BMD, who recently opened a solicitor’s office in the town, wanted to become involved too.

Michelle Handley, from Curtis BMD said: ‘We’ve seen how the local community loves this run, with its beautiful iconic scenic route around the edge of Dartmoor and we wanted to share in the fun. As a local firm we’re keen to support the athletic club and help promote community running.’

Andrew Kirby from Gibbs Kirby added: ‘It made sense to share the sponsorship between the two local firms and continue the link with one of the longest established races in the area. We look forward to the event on October 25 and hope this Indian summer continues!’
