VISITORS to Tavistock Pannier Market helped to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice South West during the two-week Great Meerkat Hunt over the Easter period.
More than 1,000 people enjoyed free tickets to Dartmoor Zoo and special treats were given to all the children who participated in the competition receiving sweets from Fudgetastic as well as badges and keyrings from Pens and Moor and Eternal Prints.
All completed entries were entered into a competition drawn by market reeve Duane Carruthers and the lucky winners were Michael Cook from St Austell, who won a Storm watch from The Watchman of Tavistock, an Xbox One donated by Tesco Tavistock complete with games from Play On which was won by Amelia and Keeley Symonds from Plymouth and a laptop presented by Brett Kingsman-Daw from ABC Service Tavistock which was won by Charlie and Elliot Easter from Norfolk.
Mrs Easter said: ‘We had a wonderful holiday in Devon and we all enjoyed taking part in the Great Meerkat Hunt — this is just the icing on the cake. We are thrilled!’
Donations were invited for St Luke’s Hospice.
