A BURST waterpipe near the football field at Whitchurch caused problems for residents yesterday morning (Wednesday).
Areas affected included Bishopsmead, where discoloured water was reported, and Buctor Park on the outskirts of Tavistock, where the supply was completely cut off for a short time.
The 12-inch plastic pipe burst at around 8.30am and South West Water engineers quickly diverted the flow. Contractors were sent to the site to replace a six-metre length of the pipe.
Dina Chandler, a spokeswoman for South West Water, said: ?The replacement of the pipe will take four to six hours, but nobody?s supply should be affected during that time.?
