BUCKLAND Drama Group’s next production will be a musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s famous story The Happy Prince which will run from January 27 to January 30.

The story is set in 1890, when the golden statue of the Happy Prince stands above the city looking down on the misery below.  Desperate to bring happiness to the people, he asks a swallow to distribute his gold and jewels to them.  The prince’s generosity and the swallow’s courage overcome the mayor’s greed and everyone is shown that the most precious things in life are often the least obvious.
