PRINCETOWN Primary pupils got their hands dirty recently, holding a car wash to raise money to improve their playground.
The pupils took part in a sponsored car wash at the school to fundraise for the painting of a mural on an old wall in the school's playground, and raised £30 towards their £150 target.
A substantial donation of masonry paint was made by Tinhay Building Supplies of Pixon Lane, Tavistock, and other local people have donated brushes and rollers.
The mural project was the result of a consultation with the children about how they would like to improve their playground, and is being organised by Children United — the school council.
As part of this work, they have also set up a school gardening club with help from the Parent Forum.
