FOLLOWING the recent hugely successful Dickensian Evening, Charles Steevenson Wines Ltd has stepped in to sponsor the competitions that were held on the night, for the 'Best-Dressed Shop Window', and the 'Best-Dressed Shop Assistants'.
Mr Steevenson said he was delighted to help the Chamber of Commerce by providing bottles of champagne for the prize-winners.
He said: 'I believe Dickensian Evening proved once again to be a wonderful opportunity for helping to showcase the very best of what Tavistock has to offer. Every business should get involved in these events – that is what helps to build community spirit, and is clearly good not only for business in Tavistock and the surrounding area, but for the whole community.'
Chamber of Commerce Dickensian organiser, Graham Skedgell, said: 'We are enormously grateful to Charles Steevenson, and to other businesses throughout the town and area, for their support in helping to stage Dickensian Evening this year.
'Everyone knows how challenging conditions are at present, but there is still so much that can be done when people work together.'
