A TALENTED family of swimmers are celebrating their recent successes.
Tavistock Primary School pupil Joshua Lake and his older brother James — one of the school's ASA qualified swimming teachers — recently travelled to Sheffield with Plymouth Leander to take part in the Rotherham Metro Silver Jubilee Open Meet. In the 50m backstroke Joshua achieved a personal best and 5th position followed by 7th in the 50m breastroke and 200m individual medley plus two reserve places in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly.
Having suffered a recent injury James only entered team events — winning a silver medal in the 8x50m freestyle relay and bronze in the 4x50 medley relay.
In the recent Club Championships Oliver Lake, 8, showed he also had potential, finishing in first overall place in his age group over Joshua and James who both finished with third places in the Club 11 years and Open Championships.
