A TAVISTOCK College student is celebrating success after scooping a top national award.
Josh Andrews, 17, presents 'Level 12', the weekly children's show on Hospital Radio Plymouth. His on-air advertisement for the programme won bronze in the best station promotion category at the 2010 Hospital Broadcasting Association awards, hosted this year in Renfrew.
Josh's promotion included clips of interviews he has held with Christopher Biggins and Joe Pasquale. Judges, who included BBC Radio 2 and 6 music controller Bob Shennan, said that the execution of it was very good.
It is now a hat-trick of awards for Josh, who was named as volunteer of the year and picked up a commendation as Best Newcomer at last year's ceremony.
Renfrew's event also saw Hospital Radio Plymouth awarded the silver trophy in the hotly contested station of the year category, for the second year in a row. The charity was also commended in best speech package, for a documentary on congenital heart disease.
Hospital Radio Plymouth can be heard in Derriford Hospital and The Royal Eye Infirmary in Plymouth on 87.7fm and via Patientline Channel One. For more information visit http://www.hospitalradioplymouth.org.uk">www.hospitalradioplymouth.org.uk
