?BRINGING the shops back home to you? is the slogan behind a new community market venture being launched in Bratton Clovelly this weekend. The aim of the new community market is to allow villagers in isolated rural areas to buy a full range of goods without having to leave the village. The market will be run as a co-operative with 46 tables already booked, offering everything from haberdashery, children?s clothes, toys, plants and flowers, fruit and vegetables and pet food. The first community market takes place in Bratton Clovelly Hall this Saturday, September 9 and will be run again the following Saturday, September 16. The market runs from 9.30am to 1pm. Organisers say they are already in discussions about taking the community market to other parish halls and community venues if this first event proves successful.
