BIOLOGY students from Tavistock College are celebrating success, after a great performance at the recent British Biology Olympiad.
Tavistock students Lucy French and Michael Harris were awarded silver medals at the competition and Sarah Tebbs won a commended certificate, from a total entry of more than 1,000 of the top students from the best state and public schools in the country.
The college's Biology department has an exceptional record in the competition, having produced two top ten finalists in the last five years, as well as other medallists.
Lucy and Michael have been invited to the medal award ceremony at the Royal Society in London on July 1.
The British Biology Olympiad is a competition for sixth-form biologists, which has been running for the last seven years.
Each school is allowed a maximum of five entrants and awards of gold, silver and bronze medals, and highly commended and commended certificates are made.
