TWO musicians who specialise in playing baroque music, Hazel Brooks and David Pollock, will perform at Lydford for Villages in Action. They will be playing a specially selected repertoire at the Nicholls Hall on Saturday, February 12 at 7.30pm. These two fine musicians play music by the greatest baroque masters, including Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and Purcell, all played on period instruments. They began playing together in 1999 fired by a shared enthusiasm for presenting early music in an accessible way to audiences of all ages. They have developed a sensitive and communicative performing style, with spoken introductions, which brings to life the musical and historical context of each piece. This will be a delightful evening?s entertainment delivered by two skilled musicians with a wealth of knowledge of their subject. Tickets, £5, family ticket £16, for the Lydford concert from Moorside Garage tel: 01822 820479. This has been organised with the help of Villages in Action.
