TAVISTOCK Ladies started shakily on the back foot from a young Activate side. The ball was constantly in Tavistock's half and it was only the solid defence of Maloney, Glasspoole, Cox and Shaw that kept it out.
In goal Stock was called upon early to dive at the feet of some fast strikers. As play went on wingers Jones and Blowey started to use their speed and chances began to develop. Cox and Blowey worked the overlap well and after a neat one two Cox saw her shot superbly saved but the keeper only parried to the feet of Hammond who cooly struck home.
Activate came straight back and Hurley and Hammond worked tirelessly in midfield for Tavistock.
Jones battled to get the ball over to Hammond who put a great through ball to Weeks who ran clear and struck a magnificent ball low into the net.
Webber and Weeks up front chased every through ball and after some fine corners from Blowey were unlucky not to increase the score.
The second half saw Bammons and Coker fit into play and Blowey went up as striker. A fine run from Bammons saw Weeks hit the cross bar. Activate struck back early in the second half from a cracking pile driver leaving Stock no chance.
Activate evened the score when their striker beat the off side trap. Tavistock never dropped their heads and when Bammons dead accurate cross found Weeks she lobbed the keeper. Bammons again crossed in and found Blowey who smashed it into the net.
Jones also hit the cross bar and Tavistock deserved their first three points of the new year.
