Exeter Saracens 43

Tavistock U15s 31

DESPITE having 13 players against a full 15 of Saracens for the entire match Tavistock played with aggression and purpose scoring 5 tries in the process.

Two wonderful individual tries by man of the match Jack Hodges including an interception caught deep in the Tavistock half were complemented by two further solo tries by Ewan McCall in the centres.

The best team try of the match came from a scrum in Saracens? half, rolling mauls led by the captain Mark Kerwill and Jake Chinn, great vision by Mark to offload to Chris Dawe running off the ball to take and score in the corner.

Andrew Smerdon and Euan McCall between them added 3 conversions.

The forwards as a unit showed great fitness throughout, a desire to win the ball quickly from the second phase and robust tackling for most of the match despite the deficit in numbers. This week sees Tavistock enter the Devon Cup with a first round match at Plymstock.
