OKEHAMPTON College students have filled 270 shoeboxes —100 more than last year — with gifts, as part of the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal. The generosity of the students who supported the project will help brighten the Christmas of children in countries far away. Their contribution will be among a cargo of 11,000 boxes already on their way to Northern Romania to be distributed among street children and orphans there. The college's Carol Chapman expressed thanks to Jessica and Natalie Day for their help in organising the appeal within the school. The appeal was also helped by Chastey's Shoes who supplied the boxes to the college.
