THE first ever art exhibition at the Okehampton Simmons Bowling Club raised a magnificent £270 for charity.
The exhibition over the weekend of November 19 and 20 was made up of watercolour paintings and other works by local art enthusiasts.
Eight paintings from the exhibition were sold to raise money for the BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal.
Alec Davey was one of the exhibitors to sell his work.
He said: 'We were bowled over by how well the exhibition did!
'Around 200 people came along, which was a great turnout.
'The club is keen to hold another exhibition in the spring, as this one went so well, so hopefully we can raise more money for the air ambulance.'
