Roborough v Whitchurch Wayfarers
WHITCHURCH again put in a below-par performance against local rivals Roborough.
The home side batted first and made good use of a fine pitch and a Whitchurch bowling attack missing three of their main wicket takers.
Rob Gaylard and Peter Scott added 101 for the first wicket before Gaylard was caught on the boundary by Ingram off Elliott for 49.
Scott completed his half-century before he also fell victim to Elliott, this time to a good catch by Freedman some fine fielding and suicidal running led to three run outs, which left Roborough posting a somewhat under-par total of 184 for 6.
Whitchurch, however, were soon in trouble in the chase. They were 45 for 5 after 28 overs with little realistic hope of reaching the target.
First team captain Tony Richardson, found himself a willing partner in club captain Dean Elliott as the pair put on 90 in 12 overs before Richardson became the third of Burnett's victims, the Whitchurch player finishing with 3 for 37.
With 4 overs remaining and 35 wanted, Whitchurch settled in for their second losing draw in a row, Elliott being dismissed in the final over for 58.
Whitchurch closed on 154 for 6 and claimed 8 points.
This week they host league leaders Cullompton.
