SOME brides choose a Rolls Royce, some a horse and carriage — Marie Edgar decided the No 84 bus was the best mode of transport for her big day!
An Easter Saturday bride, Marie and her wedding party set off on the regular First Western National bus from her home in Horrabridge — and right on time arrived in Tavistock for the appointment at the Register Office.
'The bus stops right outside my house and I use it every day to get to work — it was natural to use it,' said Marie, a care assistant at The Red House in Yelverton.
'There were one or two people on the bus who gave me a funny look, but they all congratulated me as I got off,' she said.
The bus was appropriately decorated with some white satin ribbons for its special journey — one that bus driver Bob Dawkins won't forget in a hurry.
'He was a bit surprised when we all turned up,' said Marie.
And to toast Marie and her new husband Michael Carr, First Western National depot supervisor John Brown presented the happy couple with a bottle of bubbly.
