EVERY Friday morning Natalie Utton and Rebecca Porritt-Jones give support and advice to other young mothers at Callington's Upfront Breastfeeding Group. But recently they were on the receiving end of two Tesco bouquets from grateful mums.

'Both Natalie and Rebecca give so much of their time to the group and deserve recognition for it,' said nurse Caroline Whitton, who nominated them for the award.

'I started going to Upfront a year and a half ago, when my health visitor recommended it as my son was having weight gain issues. The group was so welcoming, and to have the support of other mums at that time was priceless.'

Natalie, a mother of three, said:?'The reason we do it is that we feel passionately about breastfeeding. The biggest issue is that people get all sorts of wrong information, and we want to make their journey as positive as possible.'

Natalie was one of the founders of the volunteer group, set up seven years ago in Callington, Saltash and Liskeard. On top of the weekly meetings, the group organises events such as a parent, child and baby fair at Callington Town Hall last year that raised £360.

Rebecca said: 'This is an honour – it makes all the hard work worthwhile.'
