MEMBERS of the Horrabridge Cavaliers have been out and about around the village over the last couple of weeks, collecting bottles from residents in preparation for the annual charity bottle auction at the Leaping Salmon tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm.
The auction is one of the Cavaliers' main fundraising events. Last year's auction raised a record sum of more than £1,700 and organisers are optimistic this figure will be beaten this year.
Cavaliers' vice-chairman and auction organiser Rob Hitchcock said: 'The residents of Horrabridge have come up trumps yet again this year with their donation of bottles for the auction and we're looking forward to a good turnout and a successful and enjoyable evening.'
The eight annual bottle auctions held so far have raised almost £7,000 in total. All the money collected goes to support good causes, mostly in the village itself.
